How to Escape a PVP Flag in World of Warcraft?
Do you despise PVP? Can’t stand being killed while you’re trying to quest because of an NPC you accidentally attacked? There are ways to get rid of a PVP flag that can save you a boatload of time and trouble.
Step1
Type “/pvp off” twice. This will begin your PVP flag’s countdown of five minutes until it drops.
Step2
Find a friendly city. Any faction-specific settlement (not a neutral settlement) will act as a safe haven for you. After you’ve activated your flag’s countdown, just wait it out here until it drops.
Step3
Find a Goblin city. Area 52, Ratchet, Booty Bay or Everlook all work. Deactivate your pvp flag and head for a Goblin city. While you can still be attacked here, the guards will attack your attacker!
Step4
Die. You can wait out your pvp flag while in ghost form. Just head back to your corpse, wait until your flag drops and resurrect.
Step5
Take a flight. If you can hurry to a flight point, charter a flight somewhere. It doesn’t really matter where; anywhere will do. The second you get on the taxi, your flag drops.
Step6
Hide. If you’re one of the classes or races lucky enough to have a disappearing act, just pop that and wait until your flag disappears. Alternatively, you can try and hide somewhere inconspicuous. The backs of buildings work well; anywhere “out of the way” will do. Just make sure that you’re far enough from a road that you won’t be seen and that your name floating above your head can’t be seen either.
Tips & Warnings
* If you choose to wait your flag out in a Goblin city, DO NOT hit back if you get attacked! If you hit back, the guards will attack you too! This includes auto-attack spells and abilities like Thorns and Retribution Aura.
* None of these tricks will work if you rolled a character on a PVP server. If you did that, you’re stuck being PVP flagged unless you transfer your character or roll another on a non-pvp server.
